ADMIN FEATURES

InEdit™

InEdit™ is a powerful tool that allows you to easily customize your site by changing text, adding and deleting features, organizing your features where you want them on a page, and editing content in-context.

  • Right-Clicking

    A right-click with the cursor over text, features, or content brings up the InEdit™ window. You can choose to Edit Text, Insert Features, or Delete Features. If the cursor is over a story or post, you have additional content editing options.

  • Edit Text

    Editing text in this window is as simple as using a word processor. You can cut, paste, delete, and change the text to whatever you want.

  • Insert Feature

    There are more than twenty features that you can add to a page, from simple headers to dynamic widgets. You just highlight the desired feature and click save.

  • Delete Feature

    Any feature can be deleted by selecting this action. You can choose to add a different feature or leave the space blank.

  • Content Edit

    Users' stories and posts can be edited anywhere on your site. You can delete the entire post, turn comments off or on, and select which posts will be displayed on your site's main page as a feature.

  • Drag and Drop

    Every feature displayed on your site can be dragged from one location on the page and dropped on another. While you are dragging a feature, Instant Jouranlist will tell you where you are allowed to drop it. You never have to worry about disturbing the content posted by your members.

MODERATOR OPTIONS

Instant Journalist makes it easy to moderate the posts on your site and remove any unwanted content. You also have the abilty to distribute any of the moderation responsibilities to any of your trusted members.

  • Moderator Tools

    A moderator box is provided on every story's main page, giving you the ability to delete the entire post, feature or un-feature the content, force comment moderation, disable comments on the story, or view the stats and metrics of the post. Comments can be moderated by simply right-clicking the comment and selecting the desired action.

  • Member Moderators

    Any trusted member can be given moderation authority by simply upgrading their abilities. You can control the amount of responsibilities they have and track their moderation activity history.

ACTIVITY TRACKING

The actions of all your members are tracked by Instant Journalist and displayed in an easy to read format, allowing you to easily detect patterns of abuse.

  • Users

    A member's history can be accessed on your Site Administration page. You can track their posts and comments. If you have have given certain members moderation privileges, their moderation history will be visible as well.

METRICS and STATS

The total activity of your site is continuously monitored so that you may have accurate statistics for decision making.

  • Statistics

    Instant Journalist tracks the number of page hits, user sessions, top pages, top referrers, search engine term count, and content count. Each metric is displayed on an easy to read graph and is plotted vs time.

  • Time frames

    You can view the metrics for your site per hour, day, week, month, and year.

APPEARANCE and LAYOUT

Instant Journalist allows you to create and change the content categories, easily change the look of your site, and control your map's properties.

  • Categories

    Your categories will help you organize the content on your site. You can use the standard categories (news, sports, weather, etc.) or easily create your own.

  • Themes

    Instant Journalist offers a range of layouts and color schemes. You have the abilty to change your site to any one of these themes whenever you like.

  • Maps

    Your site's maps can easily be changed at any monent. You can can control the centered position, zoom level, and choose which mode your maps will use.
